War is never good. Everyone suffers whenever a war breaks out. Well, everyone except the kings and princes, who undoubtedly stand to gain more from it. So, it is no surprise that where there is war, there is famine, death, and unimaginable fear. You can say that has been Galen's reality for so long. He is used to seeing corpses on the roads, starving children playing in the mud, and young men being forcefully dragged to go fight. But a sliver of hope is given to him when an executor tells him that a distant relative had left all that he had to him before passing away. So, Galen uses his relative's death as a one-way ticket out of his country. With visions of all he could be in this new world, he set out for Voulhire. But what he never imagined was the darkness that hovers over this new world and the part that he would play in the adventure that the Voulhirians were bound to have. Matthew Tysz wrote this story and titled this book We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies.

First off, I'd like to say that We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is not the first book that I have read from Matthew Tysz. But it is the first book in the We Are Voulhire series. When I chose to read this novel, I expected nothing but a wonderful story that I would never forget, and the author did not disappoint.

I did not dislike anything in We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies. It takes a lot for an author to come up with a story that is so good that it leaves its readers extremely glad that they read it. This novel portrayed what life in our world looks like, but still managed to give the subject of its tale its own unique features. I am impressed by Matthew Tysz's mind. He showed me that one does not always need to write books in one way. By using two narrative styles to explain the plots (the first person for Galen's adventure and the third person for other characters), he proved that point. And this narrative style is my most-liked thing in the book.

We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies filled me with a desire to follow the adventures of each character till the end (till the ninth book in the series). It fed my hunger for a story that would captivate my being and leave me desiring more. I thought that since it was the first book in the series, it would be quite boring, but I was very wrong.

This novel was exceptionally edited, and I loved how interesting it got after each scene. The fact that there was no error shows the author's love for perfection. And because he made this book so perfect, I did not dislike anything in it. I loved the times the plot was slow and when it was fast. I loved the description and the narration. I loved all of it. And I rate it 4 out of 4 stars for that reason.

As a successful author of scores of books, it is no surprise that Matthew Tysz wrote this beautiful novel. If anything, I applaud his brilliance and ability to cook up this mind-blowing and highly interesting plot. I don't think that I would have ever done that. We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies will fulfill the desire for a book that focuses on the adventures of people in a world where magic and science exist without scoffing at each other. I recommend this book to you if you love books about adventure, war, magic, science, and patriotism.
