Katja was born to the King of Hale a little bit into his reign. The night she was born was one of the happiest nights of his life. After four years, Amara was also born, and with her came the magic of Brikkir. This magic helped her mold ice to her will. But instead of this gift being celebrated, it caused fear, and layer by layer, war. The kingdom of Hale was brought to its knees, but that was not all. A few years after the war that claimed many lives had broken out, Katja woke up in a strange town. Having no memory of her past or how she got there, she sets out to find food and clothing. But that was just the beginning of her adventure. She will later be forced to either survive in her new reality or die trying.

Awakening was written by Tayma Tameem. It is a fantasy novel about magic and family. It shows what a true bond is and the consequences of trying to break that bond. Understanding that this book isn't just one to entertain, but it's also one that teaches, is the key to getting the most from it.

What I liked enough to call my favorite thing in the novel is the pace at which each scene or event unfolds. It was not rushed, but it took its time peeling away the truths that it hoped to share at the end of the story. That captivated me in so many ways.

I liked everything in it. There was no chance for me to see any errors or anything that I disliked. So, on the one hand, it was exceptionally well-edited. On the other hand, I loved every bit of it. It was a beautiful book that showed many great things. It showed me what unconditional love looks like. There was tons of magic and the use of it. There were kings and queens, and princes and princesses. I love a good book about royalty, magic, and love.

The above is the recipe for an exceptional rating. Not all books can say that they truly deserve that. After reading this, I was left salivating and wanting more. As I have already said, the story progressed at an acceptable pace and was exceptionally well-edited. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this to people who enjoy reading fantasy fiction literature. Because of how gory some scenes are, I recommend it only to an audience that is above 16.
