The mythical world of Atlantis has always been a fascinating part of folk tales. With different descriptions of this great city, its power and advancement have remained constant. The book Echo in Time by Michael Thomas is a book that cuts across different worlds, different times, and different places. This science-fiction novel includes the controversial topics of time travel, teleportation as well as other advanced technologies.

We are first introduced to Zach, a descendant of a man who had lived thousands of years ago. He is seemingly an important part of saving the world. He meets with a Kanassian who, after a series of exciting events, reveals to him the precarious state of the future of the world and the part he has to play in saving it. What begins as a murder case quickly spirals into more. With a Kanassian leader and an incredible team of different professionals, they set out to keep the world from destruction at the hands of their Argloxian enemies by journeying to a land which had previously been described as mythical. What would the fate of the world be when faced with technology so advanced? Will they survive? Will the world be saved?

I found some positive aspects of this book. It contained a lot of suspense-filled parts, and as a lover of suspense, I found it gripping and enjoyable. I also loved how it cut across different countries and people, exposing the reader to different nationalities as well as different professional codes. The book was also exceptionally well edited; I could find no errors in it.

The book contains some negative aspects. First, in the beginning, a lot of ideas were thrown in at once, introducing different people at different times, which brought about a lot of confusion. Again, the book contained too many scientific terms with no attempts to simplify it for those not science inclined. To marginally understand the import of these scientific terms, I had to consult a dictionary frequently, and I found the whole process very exhausting and tiring. Also, at some point, the book left out a lot of information, leaving the reader clueless about the happenings. Another issue with this book was that the author sprung stories up on the reader. I would have appreciated it if certain stories had a better introduction. Although I enjoyed the thrill on the journey to Atlantis, I still had so many questions.

I would give this book a rating of 2 out of 4 stars. I did not give it a lower rating because I found the book enjoyable to read. I did not give it a higher rating because of the negative aspects I found in it and also because I found reading the book a chore at some point.

I would recommend this book to science inclined persons who enjoy reading science-fiction books. Anybody who is fascinated with science and who enjoys suspense books would enjoy this one too.

The book's illustration is eye catching the creation of the past through the background colors and the use of the ancient warrior like standing in the foreground armed reveals a connection we are about to face of the present world and the past.
The amazing review concurs with this. I recommend it to sci- fi genre audience.

No, I guess I'll pass on this one. I believe that if the book had gone through another round of editing, it would have come out better and more fascinating. Great job with the review, thanks for the same.

It worries me to think about the fate of the world with such an advanced technology.
