Fish Wielder by J.R.R.R (Jim) Hardison is the most bizarre fantasy novel but in a nice way. It is all about the hero's adventurous journey, Thoral Mighty Fist, with his reliable companion, the talking fish, Bradfast. With the magical blade Blurmflard and steed Warlordhorse both given to Thoral by his mentor, Yiz, they travel the world of Grome fighting unexpected fights, meeting some intriguing and hilarious characters. The real adventure in this book begins when unbeatable Thoral Mighty Fist goes after Bad religion but you'll be amazed to see how everything's connected from the start.

You will enjoy reading the book aloud because the dialogues are commendable as they reveal thoughts and feelings as intended. The vocabulary used in the novel is of high praise, that it provides justice to the novel's theme and genre. Nothing in the book is offbeat, the plot develops pretty well. The plot twist and Thoral's secret hooked me to read the book till the end page. In fact, I am waiting for its sequel as there are some unresolved questions that I would like to be answered in the next part.

The unlikable characters become likeable as the story grows. In the beginning, I found Brad just an ordinary character but as I read further I fell in love with him because of his wit, loyalty and love for Thoral. One such character which I found unrealistic was Tyncie CheeChaw CheeChee WeeWaw but as I read further the most unrealistic ones became unforgettable.

I would like to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because there is nothing that I did not like about the Fish Wielder. The book is well edited and profoundly written. The beauty of this novel is that nothing makes sense here and yet you'll fall in love with a few deary and daring characters. You'll find reasons to laugh even in the most toughest of battles going on. This book proves that there's fun in absurdness too if portrayed finely.

Anyone with extreme interest in fiction can grab this book. There's no restriction to the age when it comes to reading this book. Still, I would say those above 13 should give it a read as it portrays violence. Overall the book is mind-blowing and worth being compared to Lord Of The Rings (as mentioned by the author in the book). For those reading isn't fun, read Fish Wielder and you'll watch your perspective change.
