Review of The Devil Pulls the Strings
Review of The Devil Pulls The Strings. by J. W. Zarek.
Intriguing is not an enough word to describe this book.
The book throws you deep end into a world of the supernatural and music. The book talks about the battle between good and evil where we find Mr. Boon, who was only trying to fulfill a promise he made to his best friend who he accidentally injured, is thrown into a world he didn't know existed. He thought he was only promising to play with Flynns band at a concert but he gets more than he bargained for. He arrives to New York city, which is a first for him, only to be welcomed by death and chaos. Though this world of supernatural is new to him, he finds that it ties to his own tragic past and the demons that have hunted him since he was a boy. Despite the fact that danger seems to always find him, Mr. Boon doesn't let his fear get in the way of keeping his promise.
The book has too many aspects to point out all of them but if I can name but a few, I would highlight Sapphire's love of music is contagious. The description of any scene where she hears a new piece of music makes you want to search for the piece so you can listen. I also loved Boon's carefree characters. He is easy going and sarcastic also jokes alot but when called upon he delivers with pure determination. His loyalty to his best friend is worth mentioning, though his life is threatened his promise keeps him going. Though he could return to his hometown and ignore the battle going on, his promise gives him courage.
For negative aspects, well, I think it's subjective, it might be a turn off for me but might work for others. I refrer to the exuberant use of sound intonations. Afew is okay but the book has plenty of them. Again like I said it's subjective to different readers.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is because the book is exceptionally edited, contains everything it takes to keep a reader glued:humor, danger, action, magic, romance, betrayal . It's a full package. J. W. Zarek has outdone himself in presenting a fictional book with underlying topics we can relate to in this book The Devil Pulls The Strings.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves music, magic and watching good battle against evil. This book also contains a valuable lesson on loyalty and courage.
