Review of Logistics. A Christmas Story
Logistics is the overall process of managing how resources are acquired, stored, and transported to their final destination. Logistics. A Christmas story by Chris Coppel is centered around a woman named Holly Hillman as she progressively grows through her personal and business interactions. As CEO of Marshal Whitman logistics, she is set on purchasing Ling Chow Group, their biggest rival. When asked for a DNA test to complete the contract, she thinks it’s illegal not knowing she will be thankful for it in the future.
After the DNA comes out having issues, she goes back. She’s taken on an adventure filled with drugged cookies, milk, elves, and, a sleigh. Being an orphan, the families she was raised in never celebrated Christmas, so imagine her surprise when she finds out Santa is real and a whole new dimension exists. She ends up convincing herself it’s a dream. Through all this, she learns of her ancestry and reunites with her lover. She even goes as far as to help Santa with the logistics of delivering gifts.
I also liked how much description went into the book. Chris Coppel’s writing is so descriptive you would be able to picture the dimensions he’s written as it were real. We also get to see how progressively Holly's character changes throughout the book, therefore I love that it didn’t happen drastically. One can identify the little steps taken to make her a better version of herself, as she unknowingly strips the layers that she carefully preserves herself with. This makes reading the story entertaining.
The best thing about the book is the quirky characters that get to be featured on her trip to the different dimensions. I also love how the author starts up the story with some form of suspense where you are left with a thirst for knowing more about the book, and it is then quenched later on and clarified in the book as we get closer to the end.
There is nothing I disliked about the book, but for someone with less patience, the book would seem to progress slowly. I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars being that the storyline is so intriguing, it also gives a perspective on our daily life and how we prioritize different aspects, forgetting there is more to life. I would recommend this book to teenagers, young adults, and anyone looking for a good book. Even with it being a Christmas Story, it is entertaining enough to be read on any day and not necessarily only during the Christmas season.
