Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Our world is currently experiencing bouts of war. Countries at loggerheads throw lethal weapons at each other. I cannot imagine the fear that those stuck crossfire are feeling. I pray this stops soon. This experience is the same as what Galen faced on the Island of the Prince. Living with no knowledge of whether or not the next breath he draws might be his last was too scary. As a grown man, Galen felt no need to be ashamed to admit that he was scared. That was why he was super-excited when Rowan came to him with news of his uncle's passing and that he was to get all that his uncle owned. The land of Voulhire welcomed him with a clear starry gaze. That was the beginning of great things in Galen's life. He will soon see that he was made to come to Voulhire to be more than just a blacksmith.
We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a slow-paced novel. I mean that there was no rushed plot in the story. It seemed like the author, Matthew Tysz, wrote the story in a way that made events unfold naturally. The characters grew just as naturally too. I'm not surprised by the author's confidence, given that this is only the first book in the We Are Voulhire series.
One thing that I cannot forget in the story is Rowan's daring nature. I do not know if Rowan will turn out to be a skilled fighter, but he has mastered the art of annoying those he sets his mind on. This attribute is what I liked the most about the story. His daring nature entertained me several times. That gave me a break from all the death and gloomy atmosphere that clouded most of the story.
I am happy with everything that Matthew Tysz gave me in this story. I liked every character, plot, sentence, and emotion in it. I did not dislike anything in it.
I believe that Matthew Tysz should be appreciated for writing this story. He intends to take everyone who reads this on a journey into Voulhire. I could not wait to see what mischief Rowan and Galen would be up to. That is why I quickly finished reading We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies. I did not dislike anything in it. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I also saw that it was clearly written and exceptionally well-edited.
This book is available on Amazon. I wish that I had read the hard copy. Then, I would have been able to say that I literally buried my nose in it. There are good and bad forces in the story. Only those who enjoy stories with such powerful forces and events that are tinged with uncertainty will enjoy We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies. I recommend it to just those people because I know that they will enjoy this story.
