Terms of Service introduces to us a distant future in which everything is under the control of Ais. A strong surveillance state has taken place for the betterment of humans' life. Absolute grasp is necessary to ensure a society free of chaos and selfism...Right?

Terms of Service by Craig W. Stanfill tells the story of Kim, an obedient Artificial Intelligence Company worker, content with a life with limited freedom regulated by Ais. Kim's law-abiding comfortable life turns upside down when a series of events, choices, and circumstances bring doubt, questioning, and finally, realization into her life. Kim has reached a crossroads, will she choose to remain ignorant and abide by what she has been taught to do or will she jump into the unknown to find the answers to everything that has happened in her life? A journey filled with newfound emotions, heartwrenching understanding, and stone-cold realities.

There were several aspects of this work I thoroughly enjoyed. The exceptional world-building and engaging build-up to the very important events that were the driving forces of the progress of the plot would be some of the things I loved, but if I had to choose one, it would most certainly be how the author made me feel that the more the book progressed, and Kim went through different experiences, the closer we got. Initially, it felt like Kim was a distant human even when expressing its own emotions and thoughts internally, however, when the plot thickens the life and thoughts of the protagonist expand greatly, and as a result, I found myself feeling like Kim trusted her thoughts and even me as a reader more than at the beginning of the story. It was a different reading experience that I took great pleasure in.

The only impediment I would say I faced during the reading of this piece is that there were scarce instances in which a more detailed description of the characters' physical appearance or expressions would take place. With such an outstanding world-building, the wonderful take on a surveillance state in a dystopian future, and the emotional rollercoasters the protagonist faces in her internal battles triggered by different events, I found myself wondering what a character looked like or how their expressions could have been so that I could create a more detailed mental picture of not only the world but also the characters that live in it. As a result, it didn't allow me to fully immerse myself. Nevertheless, I do have to say, this didn't become a factor that affected my reading experience significantly, nor is it essential for the plot of the story.

I would recommend Terms of Service to people that take great pleasure in sci/fi or in stories that take place in dystopian settings. I didn't find any grammatical or punctuation mistakes. Therefore, I think this work has been exceptionally well-edited. It was truly thrilling reading this story. I am delighted whenever I find a book that invites me to think and reflect upon things that we are accustomed to in our everyday lives. The pace of the story was amazing. Terms of Service by Craig W. Stanfill deserves, in my opinion, 4 out of 4 stars.
