Have you ever had a dream that was so vivid you had to wonder if it was only a dream? A dream so real you can still taste the salt in the air and feel the wind in your hair. Then maybe it wasn't a dream. Maybe you took a journey to the ethereal world. A place where monsters and ghosts walk among each other, where voices clamber over each other just to be heard. A place where you can easily get lost, never to be found again.

In The Party Line by Dennis D. Ganon, he might just give us the explanation we all are looking for. In this autobiographical science fiction novel, the author stumbles on something he calls the party-line theory of consciousness. But what does this mean? At the beginning of this book, the reader meets his close friend, D. The friendship seems real enough, but as the boys grow, it gets lots in their daily dealings with life. Although the author claims that he always loved D, I couldn't help to think this wasn't the case. So as the author's journey progress into the astral realm, he meets new voices and starts to get stronger in his belief that there is more to this world than meets the eye. He also learns how to control certain aspects that unfortunately, have ramifications in his old mundane world. Things he couldn't hope to have happened.

What I enjoyed about this book was how the author managed to draw me into the ethereal realm. Each new journey was an eye-opener, an explosion of color with wonderful magical beings conjured to make you quake in your boots. The fighting scenes were well thought through and left me breathless. Also, the voices he encountered; were made into real, life-like people with personalities, they weren't left flat, which I appreciated.

There was nothing about this book that I disliked. This is a thought-provoking book filled with adventure and drama. The author makes one think about your own motives in life. He also gets the reader to think about how we see things. He makes one believe that it isn't that hard to change one's perspective and see things in a different light. In The Party Line, the author Dennis D. Ganon provides an adventurous journey of 19 chapters and 251 pages that will keep you turning those pages. At the end of the book, the author also provides readers with a guide with questions that will leave them delving for more answers.

I could only find one small mistake while reading. This however, did not hinder my enjoyment of this book. The words flowed well, and the characters were all well developed. It is with pleasure that I award this book 4 out of 4 stars. I believe this book will be enjoyed by young adults with curious minds.

The author's theories about the astral realm are really worth exploring :) Dreams can be vivid and tricky, I would love to learn how the author explains this phenomena. Thanks for a great review!
