When I first selected this book, I assumed it to be just a simple book about Death going on vacation and hiring an assistant. However, it is so much more. From Buck to Jumbo to Luna to Bethany, the twists and turns, I found myself completely drawn each and every turn of the page.

When speaking to my friends about why I would recommend this, I came to the conclusion that it feels like a mix of “The Office” and a video game. There is action, self dialogue, and more. My favorite character of course is Luna, as she brings a fresh and bright perspective to the protagonist.

However, I also love Buck. His development and growth as a character really shows that he was just missing love of some kind. Whether it be from a partner, a family member, or even in a work situation, he just needed to feel validated.

This book gets a 4/4 for me as I really enjoyed reading every page, more of a reason why it took me longer because I wanted to devote the time to every single detail.

I highly recommend and hope there may be a sequel eventually!
