Terrence E. Scott’s War of the Cha’cict is truly an extraordinary tale of AIs (Artificial Intelligence), love, betrayals, death and war. This story cuts across many planets, different races and what each deems important to themselves. This book talks about the greed of a single man and the bravery of another.
Jacob Purcell, a super wealthy businessman, singlehandedly starts a war between the Cha’cict and humans as a result of his greed.
The enraged Cha’cict race declares war on the human race as they felt they had been wronged by them; a wrongdoing which most of the human population were unaware of, save the culprit – Jacob Purcell.
On the other hand, Jared Connell, a sickly, heartbroken civilian who despises the use of computers and artificial intelligence is enlisted to help with the dissemination of information as the war between humans and the Cha’cict continues. He is however met with some difficulties and obstacles to accomplishing his mission. With the help of Cercesse, a super computer belonging to the Khologai race (an alien race that had eventually become extinct), he braves the odds to do what it takes to stop the war between the humans and the Cha’cict and finds love again.

War of the Cha’cict is an intriguing book, and what some may refer to as a Science-fiction novel. The plots and twists were excellent, and totally ingenious. From the description of different species (or races), to the technologies and artificial intelligence in play, I must say the author has a creative thought pattern and an even better way with words. The super intelligence of Cercesse overwhelmed me and I would definitely love to come across a race like the Khologai (If there ever was one).
As much as I love this book, I however do not like the ending as it does not really have a conclusive end (in my opinion). I really hope to see a part 2 or a continuation of sorts. Every other aspect is wonderful; therefore I rate this book
4 out of 4 stars. This rating is in part due to the excellent storyline, the expert editing and the fact that I love the book. No other rating would suffice.
The author really outdid himself in this one. This book is therefore recommended to new adults, young adults, adults (basically from the ages of 15 upwards) and especially those who have a profound love for Science-fiction novels.
