Review of Seeking the Light of Justice
Seeking the Light of Justice by Dr. Barry Nadel is the first book of The Hoshiyan Chronicles. An archeological, mystical, full of adventures, and intriguing story makes this book the best introduction to The Hoshiyan Chronicles. The story begins when Professor Yoshua Rosenberg receives a letter that hopefully contains some glues about the Light of Justice, a legendary King. Who exactly is the Light of Justice?
This book is about Professor Yoshua and his search for the legendary King. The professor is on a research quest, but this time his journey takes him on a path that will test his faith and give him questions that cannot be easily answered, or with answers that are not easily accepted. As the Professor and his team have sworn to secrecy to fulfill an ancient prophecy, their quest is also complicated. When the team excavates an old church in Israel, the team unravels a forgotten and disturbing past that will eventually put them in collision with some powerful forces. What will happen to the team? Why is it that the Light of Justice alarms so many powerful people?
I love the author’s imagination and smooth narration. His writing is eloquent, making it easy to understand and with a beautiful flow. I love the way the author describes archeology. As a child, I wanted to be an archeologist, after visiting an archeological Mayan site and reading this book, so vividly narrated, made me feel like a hopeful child, full of dreams. I thank the author for that since not many books help us learn and relive old childhood dreams.
I had a nice time reading this book. It does start slowly, but with some patience, the readers will quickly get to the action and suspense-filled pages and see why this book is amazing.
Overall, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I did find some errors, but nothing major, some repeated or missing words, so I consider this book well-edited. The story is great and deserves a perfect score without a doubt. This book is also very informative and demonstrates that the author made great research for the book and didn’t rely only on fantasy and imagination.
The book talks about the Catholic Church and the Vatican City, the Pope in a negative way, I believe the readers should be aware that every story needs a villain and history has proven that the Church made many mistakes during the Inquisition, making them the perfect in Seeking the Light of Justice; that being said, this book could be offensive to the most devoted catholic readers. But it could also strengthen faith for some readers if they keep an open mind and heart. Those who enjoy suspense novels will love this book.
