'The circus comes without warning'
The Night Circus is about a magical circus in the Victorian era. A circus truly unlike any other, with unpredictable wonders, awing performances and fantastical illusions. The experience from the Night Circus is truly a night that you will forever remember until you die.
The story starts off with you being introduced to the Night Circus. You see it's black and white tents, enter into the attractions and experience other worldly performances. You stand in awe of it's glory and splendor as you spend the rest of the night being pulled into the circus.
Erin Morgenstern does a great job in involving the reader to her world and using the five senses to engage and imagine what it would be like in the Night Circus. The main story centers on two characters but interactions with others is the important point in the plot. While a show of glamour and fantasy goes on in front of the audience, there is a deep conflict in the circus.
Morgenstern's chapters have a smooth flow as she transitions from one setting to another. The imagery and descriptions she uses would capture the imagination of the reader and put you under a spell. Each of her characters are quirky and special in their own way, as you read about them you feel like you are slowly being adopted into a part of a family as they can delight and upset you at the same time.
I would say this is currently my favorite book to read. I highly recommend this book for it's fantasy, romance, friendship, villains and magic. A movie is currently in the works and I'm so curious to see how they will capture the beautiful setting Morgenstern has created into film.
