How would you feel if you were to race against time to save humanity and your life? Which of the options would you decide to save first? Jared Connell, a lowly corporal, knows where his shoes pinches him the most as he finds himself in a situation where he either has to lose his life or allow that which is under his care to get destroyed. The Amalgamated Planets have been unexpectedly attacked by an alien enemy, the Cha'cict, and Connell gets infected with the alien virus. The corporal had joined the military to fight the alien. However, time is no longer on Connell's side, so he races against it to battle this enemy before he cryogenically freezes up. The only option which looks pretty to Connell, is to buy time. He would have to courier critical intelligence to the military headquarters for him to be kept in a cryogenic suspension. Much to his chagrin, the Cha'cict spaceship chases his - a distraction he doesn't need! Connell soon realizes that he has more troubles, when a colossal asteroid's energy field damages his ship. What will be the corporal's fate eventually? Joining Corporal Jared Connell in his race, to find out what his fate will be, won't be a bad idea.

A positive aspect of The War of the Cha'cict by Terrence E. Scott, which I must commend, is the fact that the book is action packed and suspense filled. I really loved this about the book. I almost felt I was in an action movie while reading about Connell's struggles. Emotions of worry, anxiety, and fear surged through me at intervals, while reading.

I also admire the selfless and courageous nature of Corporal Connell in his bid to sacrifice his life for a greater good. The point of his awakening on the asteroid seem surreal. I find this aspect of the book remarkable.

Personally, I didn't find anything negative about this book.

While reading, I was impressed that I didn't come across errors. The War of the Cha'cict doesn't contain any error, which means that it was professionally edited. This earns the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

Lovers of science fiction will find this book a worthy read. I recommend that they get a copy of it and read.
