Grey Dawn of Dharaven by Katherine E. Soto is a sci-fi and fantasy book that follows Grey Dawn on her adventures on the planet Dharaven. Born to the Earth Dragon Clan, archeologist Grey Dawn Fields leads a team into Katz Island. Grey Dawn searches Katz Island for an underground human settlement that is shown on an ancient map that she acquired. There are some individuals that do not approve of the expedition, like the Dean of her University. Grey receives a warning to watch her back after having an interview with a News Outlet. She then takes on an Elven Monk Warrior for security matters on the expedition. Grey has a minor setback when the Oversight Committee makes an appearance right before her expedition leaves, telling her that the number of people in the expedition will have to be reduced. After finding nothing in the first valley on Katz Island, the expedition team becomes discouraged, wondering if the trip was worth it. Will the next valley have something useful, or will the entire expedition be a complete waste of time?

I really liked the main character, Grey Dawn, personality. I really loved the sass in her personality as well. She was knowledgeable, and I enjoyed her determination to find the underground human settlement of Katz Island. I liked the details in the environments that Grey explores. I liked the knowledge of archeology. I also loved the creatures in the book, especially the Earth Dragon. I also liked the fact that there were individuals that were entirely opposed to the expedition.

My only small gripe or something that I did not like very much was that the beginning was a little slow, but it picked up greatly as the book progressed.

I rated this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was an incredible read from start to finish. The book was exceptionally well-edited. I found no grammatical or spelling errors throughout the book. The details the author put into the book helped to keep me engrossed and focused. The characters were developed well, and the author wrote the plot perfectly. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi and fantasy books. Anyone who likes adventure books and archeology would find this book fun and interesting. I think this book is fitting for all ages. I believe adults, young adults, and teens alike would enjoy the book.

Great review! The thought of an underground human settlement sounds intriguing. And Grey Dawn seems like a fun character.

The human settlement is a very unique addition to the plot, and Grey Dawn's character is very adventurous!

Sounds like a great read for anyone who loves sci-fi and exploratory books. I'd love to see what Dawn does to overcome the challenges especially from those against her expedition to search for the underground people. Very insightful review. Thanks.

This seems like an engaging novel that uses science fiction and fantasy elements to create a story in which archaeology is important as well. Thank you for your great review!
