A science fiction and fantasy book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz. The first book in the We are Voulhire series is this one. A sudden turn in the protagonist's life propels her into a magical world full of peril and strange occurrences. The Kingdom of Voulhire, which is modest but envious, is at the center of the story.

King Wilhelm of Voulhire emphasized that his four sons would conspire to overthrow him to claim the throne for themselves. He expelled the four princes from his palace and gave them each a small chain of islands and an army large enough to defend themselves, but the war-torn lands continued to deteriorate with each passing year.

Galen is a simple young man from the Land of Princes, where every day is a struggle between starvation and death. He seized the first opportunity to flee from this perilous environment. To obtain his uncle's inheritance, he must travel to Magnum Caleum, a small city. As he arrives, he is mesmerized by the sight of happy people, plenty of food, and freedom. Rowan, his uncle's executor, assists him in adjusting to his new surroundings. Will the King's Mianoran council go against him while he faces conflicts? Will Meldorath, the powerful mage, wreak havoc?

A map at the beginning of the book makes it easier to picture the picturesque and affluent Kingdom of Voulhire and to navigate between the locations mentioned. I adore books with maps included in them. The suspense and thrill are successfully maintained by the author, keeping the readers riveted to their seats. With captivating details and expertly placed twists in each chapter, Tysz's writing is beautiful. It's fascinating to see how the characters have changed and carried out their roles in the narrative.

Both first-person and third-person narratives are used in the book, but it occasionally becomes confusing and difficult to follow. Nevertheless, this is not enough to detract from the overall rating of four stars. Since I was unable to find any grammatical errors, I can say that the book has been carefully edited. There is a small amount of coarse language that is suitable for adult readers.

I give this book a full 4 out of 4 stars as a result. This fascinating book has nothing to be disliked. Excellent work was done by the author. All fantasy fans with an eye for a good plot and interesting characters should read this, in my opinion.
