Katja woke up in the most unusual place. She woke up in a jungle with no memories of her identity or life. The only thing she remembered about herself was her name. Confused and worried, she walks into town to try to get some information. It seemed like people knew her but were unwilling to tell her who she was. Things got worse when she became the target of an assassination attempt. Katja must figure out who she is and awaken the thoughts of all she has known if she wants to survive long in this world. Follow Katja and her story by reading the book that Tayma Tameem titles Awakening

Awakening was filled with so much drama. I was not surprised about this since drama always comes in a good story. It is what makes any story worth reading. If you have not figured it out by now, I am saying that Awakening is worth reading. There were many times when I could not put this book down. I was hooked and drugged by the words that flowed from Tayma Tameem’s thoughts. She is a master storyteller and deserves respect as far as the literary world is concerned.

I want to say what I liked the least about Awakening. The story ends with an intense cliffhanger. Cliffhangers are not bad, but I do not think that they are supposed to give you a mini heart attack. The one in Awakening did, and I was left fuming and unsatisfied. This may be good for many, but it was the complete opposite for me. I wish that Tayma Tameem had at least given me a soft landing with that cliffhanger instead of taking me so high and letting me crash so hard into the cold hard ground. That is what I disliked the most about Awakening.

My dislike above may seem funny to you, and I hope you don't laugh at my pain. I was not happy about that, but I cannot say that I will deprive this good book of its merited rating. Before I get to the rating, I would like to tell you what I liked the most about it. To me, the slow progression of the plot is the most beautiful thing about the book. It is what I liked the most. Tayma Tameem did not attempt to rush this story in any way. She told it like she had all the time in the world. I do not know how many sequels Awakening has, but I have vowed to read all of them because of this single feature.

It is time to rate Awakening. It deserves 4 out of 4 stars any time and any day. I can't rate it lower for many reasons. The first reason is how much I loved the plot of this story. The second reason is the fact that it was exceptionally edited. I could not see any error in it, and I am glad. The third reason is that I could not put this book down once I picked it up. I recommend this book to anyone that loves books about people rediscovering themselves and their identity. Also, since Awakening is a fantasy novel. Fantasy novel readers will have a blast reading this.
