Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Peace can be achieved when we work together; and not through wars and disputes. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is the first book from the series, We are Voulhire. The 151-page epic novel explores the themes of action, war, and adventure.
The book entails a land known as Voulhire, ruled by King Wilhelm Arcolo. A young man named Galen Bray traveled there to live a peaceful life. He was formerly surviving in a land of continuous war where his late immediate family lived for years before his uncle, Onita, gave him passage to come live with him. To him, Voulhire is a beautiful and peaceful place, while wars and disputes of all kinds reign supreme in other towns. I employ you to dive deep into this fantastic book to know more.
Firstly, I acknowledge the writing of the author. I loved the vocabulary used in the book; it is very inspiring. However, I must admit that I could not understand some of them until I checked their meaning in the dictionary. The words were something to digest, and I was happy to add them to my vocabulary. I loved the diction used in it; very easy to read and, at the same time, easy to comprehend.
I also loved the arrangement of scenes and how they were connected in the book. The scene arrangements were on point. The scenes from Galen's adventure to the festival to the appointment of a new lord in Hillport to the war are fantastic.
Furthermore, I was happy to learn about fascinating things like Voulhire's capital, its cities, and other things mentioned in the book. Also, I loved the parts about Voulhire's history; it was truly astonishing. I admire the relationship between the ruler and his people. There was genuinely great chemistry between them, something the former ruler could not.
I am heartbroken by the plot twist close to the end of the book. It saddened my heart to see how things suddenly changed. It was something I didn't expect; I feel the writer should have tried to do some good with that aspect of the book. However, I understand this is the first book in the series, and I look forward to other books.
I observed a few errors in the book that did not impede my reading experience. The book was professionally well-edited. Therefore, I rate We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies to readers who love adventure and action-themed books.
