This is the story of Galen Bray, a young man who escapes from his war-torn homeland, the Lands of the Princes, on a ship bound for Voulhire. Galen’s uncle has passed away, and Galen is supposed to inherit his uncle’s blacksmith business in the small town of Magnum Caelum. After a week’s journey, Galen finally lands in Voulhire.

Galen notices that Voulhire is a beautiful place with nice people, but at the same time, there are some supreme beings. He meets Rowan, his uncle’s executor, who promises to support him. Soon, they become close friends. What does the future hold for Galen? Will he be able to adapt to the new environment? How will the new environment affect his personality? Read the story in the book We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the first of nine books in the We are Voulhire series. It is an action-packed fantasy novel. Although there are many characters, they are unique and interesting. Each of them is introduced in a way that makes them easy to relate to, and the reader does not get overwhelmed. Of all the characters, I loved Rowan the most because of his sense of humor.

I appreciate the effort of Matthew Tysz to include the map of Voulhire at the beginning of the book. It makes it possible for the reader to get a clear mental picture of where each city is located. There is also a glossary at the end of the book to explain Voulhirian terms, which makes the book exciting to read.

This is the perfect choice of book for readers who are interested in fiction books filled with action, mystery, and magic. The author gives detailed and graphic descriptions of scenes, events, and characters.

On the negative side, the story felt tedious at first, and it took time to get into the rhythm. I also did not like the explicit description of violence. However, the book seems to be professionally well-edited, as I did not come across any spelling or grammatical errors. Due to this, despite the negatives I mentioned, I still feel that the book deserves a perfect rating of four out of four stars.

I highly recommend this book to adult readers who enjoy fantasy and science fiction stories. However, if you are sensitive to profanities and violence, then this book is not for you.
