Some Girls Bite(Chicagoland Vampire Series)

Post by jasminehambrick »

The Chicagoland Vampire Series by Chloe Neill is extraordinary. I love it! love it! loooooooove it!, This was made to be the next Vampire tv series for adults. So let me tell you a little more about this series. The Chicagoland Vampire series is about a 27 yr old English Lit Grad student named Merit that is attacked 3 weeks before her 28th birthday walking at night across campus and in order to save her life she is turned into a vampire against her will by Master Vampire Ethan Sullivan of the Cadogan House. In this series vampires are in the public, people around do know that they exist and since there coming out, there has been 12 vampire houses and 3 of them are located in Chicago, the houses are like the government of there society, and once made you have to belong to a house or you will be considered a rogue trying to survive on your own. Merit's family is prestigious in the Chicago community, her father has made a name for himself in real estate and her grandfather has been one of Chicago's finest PD . Despite growing up in wealth and privileged, Merit doesn't want all of it, and she doesn't have a great relationship with her immediate family, especially her father. But, she is exceptionally close to her grandfather. When Merit returns home after her attack, she is greeted by her best friend and roommate Mallory who unbeknownst to either one of them is a powerful witch. Once Merit is opened up to the new world of being a supernatural, she finds out that vampires aren't the only supernatural beings that exist and that her retired grandfather is not really retired at all, but working as the Ombudsman, Chicago's liaison between the supernatural and human worlds. Merit ends up joining and working for the Cadogan house despite her rocky relationship with the master because she was made a vampire against her will and has resentment against him despite that he saved her life. Ethan has gave her the job of being Sentinel, the highest rank guard in the house, because of her feistiness, will power, and her willingness to put her master and the house above all else. Even though Merit loathes her master, she has a huge crush on him and Ethan on her. She ends up denying and denying until she can't deny any longer and they profess their love to one another, only to have one of the rockiest relationships ever. With all the drama in there personal lives, they still have to find out who attacked Merit that night, and why are girls ending up dead near campus and who has it out for the vampires. When everything gets out of hand, what will be done, who can they run to, and what will Merit do next, Check out your premium channels. HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime etc....... for this series, because I know it's coming to tv, so just watch your local listings and be prepared for one of the most sexiest, bloodiest, and magical nights of the year. And the best thing about this series is that it seems to never end!

I'm a little under half-way caught up with this series.
I can't wait to see what happens next :D

It feels oddly like the female equivalent to Jim Butcher's Dresden Files...writing-wise anyway
Awesome 8)

I'm so glad I found it and gave it a try :)

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.
