King Wilhelm Arcolo was the king of Voulhire. The most prosperous and thriving nation in the land. He had a minor problem with his son refusing to be heir, but he didn’t know what to do. He recently appointed Eldus, Lord of Hillport. Hillport was once a great town in Voulhire, but bad leadership by the former rulers put it in ruin. Lord Eldus tasked with returning it to glory, relocates with his family to Hillport.

Lord Meldorath, a powerful mage who was the former ruler of Hillport is said to be alive. His name strikes fear into people as he was a very evil mage who experimented on people. Galen Bray is from the Land of Princes, a city torn by war and poverty. He sails to Voulhire in search of greener pastures. He inherits his late uncle’s forge. Rowan helps him to settle quickly in the new town of Magnum Caelum. Galen learns how to be a blacksmith. Did Eldus succeed? How is Galen connected to all this? Did. Lord Meldorath come back? We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz was a great read. I like the book so much. As the first book in the series, it set the tone nicely for the subsequent books to follow. The writing was superb, the book was well-paced, and it was hard to stop reading due to the suspense. The writer did a great job by showing us different points of view. I loved the characters. They were well written and developed. Each character knew and played their roles excellently. Lord Eldus was my favorite, he’s the perfect example of what a good leader should be.

I found no dislikes about the book. I also found no errors which show it was exceptionally well edited. The lack of errors also made it very easy to read. It was narrated very well. I learned how to always be courageous and never give up from Galen. Rowan is that friend everyone deserves to have. Due to all the reasons above, I am pleased to give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

This book was full of action, there was never a dull moment while reading. It was also full of suspense and a thriller. Being a fan of fantasies myself, I recommend this book to lovers of fiction, action, suspense, fantasy, and drama.
