We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tsyz is an interesting fictional book that presents places with a lot in common and also a lot of differences. This includes magic, war, poverty, family ties, loyalty, and servitude. This interesting novel follows the life of Galen Bray from the Land of the Princes.

Galen Bray travels to Voulhire from the Land of the Princes after he inherits a steel forge business from his uncle in Magnum Caelum. His land is war raged and also facing poverty and hunger. Galen is grateful to be going to a nation that he believes is better than his own. His guide, Rowan, is faithful and takes him through what is required. This is a new place that Galen has come to, and it doesn't seem as peaceful as he anticipated. Voulhire is filled with mages, knights, and some people who are involved in corruption. The country even has to protect itself against people who call themselves the Riva Rohavi. Has Galen come to a better place? Is this another reflection of his country?

One of the aspects of a great book is presenting a place before the beginning of the book. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies highlights the map of Voulhire at the beginning of the book. This made me familiar with the place I was reading about. The book also contains explained terminologies at the end of the book. It explains most of the terms that are of Voulhirian descent and this came in handy. Reading about the world of magic and how people carry out their activities is interesting. I got to learn a lot of new words from this book. The system of leadership in Voulhire is also interesting and different from those I've heard of.

I like the fact that the book does not only base on war and leadership but also adds an aspect of mystery and investigation. The book has a slow beginning but becomes fast-paced as the story progresses. The author has well-developed characters, and I had the chance to view each of the characters from a wide perspective. The scenes in the book are vividly described, giving the reader a clear mental picture of the land of Voulhire. I did not find any negative aspects while reading this book.

I rate We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tsyz 4 out of 4 stars. The book is exceptionally well edited since I did not find any grammatical errors while reading the book. The book has an interesting plot. This being the first book in the We are Voulhire series, it is well written, and I did not find any reason to give it a lower rating.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy fictional stories. This book gives the readers a chance to appreciate the use of fantasy and magic. I would, however, recommend this book to mature audiences since it contains profanity. This book also contains graphic scenes that may not be appropriate for sensitive readers. The book also contains mild sexual content.
