The book [We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko][/I] is the second book of the [We are Voulhire][/I] series which narrates the journey of a young blacksmith named Galen Bray who seeks to help his town by helping it get supplied with iron from an industrous and wealthy city so the town could develop. He journeyed with his two friends into Virko, a city full of darkness and the lives of many threatened by underworldly beings. Galen and his friends battled evil while determined to provide their little town of Magnum Caellum with iron.

One beautiful thing about this masterpiece is the bonds of friendship which reminded of my own friendship of 8 years. In the story Galen supported and cared for his friends with utmost sincerety, helped them when they had no where to turn to and never abandoned them even in the face of death which I mostly admired.
I also liked the noble character of Galen who even though was an immigrant of the nation took it upon himself to stop the disaster looming over the city with the knowledge that the forces he was facing were very powerful. I mean if it were me I would walk away.
Religion was one of the main concepts of this story and I just admired the effort the author, Matthew Tysz made to make science and religion work together hand in hand towards a common goal, well this is not possible in the real world because they oppose each other. After all science has its theories and and experiments while religion has is faiths and beliefs.

The only thing that did not go well with me was the gory details. Killing was like pleasure and evildoers derived satisfaction, even arousal from it. Unborn babies were not spared for the sake of their schemes and plots. It hurt me to see hundreds of innocent people die.

Big thumbs up to Matthew for making my week with this story which I have enjoyed very much and would gadly rate this [4 out of 4 stars][/b] because the book was presented in an order where it was easy to understand the roles of every character. It also taught me lessons like humility and acceptance of myself.

I would highly recommend this book to people who would like to take a stand against the demons and giants in their lives whether they are powerful or not.
