Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
The science fiction novel We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a work of suspense and imagination. It tells the tale of a lowly exile from the land of the princes who has inherited property in the rich and powerful kingdom of Voulhire. When Galen Bray inherited a forge from his uncle, he had little experience in forging. During his time in the Voulhire, he encounters a number of people that help him. One of them was his uncle's executor while learning about the industry, and the two of them set off on an adventure to modernize the forge. The people of Magnum seemed friendly, which made living there seem different from that in his war-torn country. They soon encounter a lot of unanticipated difficulties, and odd things occur in Voulhire. Galen's ambitions look like a pipe dream in the face of the horrifying unknown happenings occurring around the realm. Galen will learn more about his inheritance to be able to continue his great uncle's work while he adjusts to his new home with the help of Rowan.
I enjoyed the book since it is an interesting and compelling read. The author did an excellent job on this book; the storyline twists made it more exciting to read. I liked the plot of this book, and I commend the author for his originality and writing style. I liked how the author included a map in the book for the readers. Furthermore, I found it simpler and more anchored in the book to follow the plot thanks to the map. I found the reference section at the back of the book to be very helpful in deepening my understanding of the unfamiliar and difficult ideas presented in the book.
I didn't enjoy how slowly the book started and how much background information it provided. Another thing is that there are numerous names and topics present throughout the novel, making it difficult to keep track of them all. Other than that, I enjoyed reading this book. It had some unique twists that kept me clued in to the book. Such an amazing and fascinating novel was enjoyable to read.
The book was well-written, since I found myself engrossed in every chapter I read. I appreciate the way the author organized this book since I found it enjoyable from the beginning to the conclusion. The book was excellent and engrossing. To my knowledge, there were no grammatical errors or other flaws in it. As a result, I am rating this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I would recommend this book to individuals who enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy, as well as historical fiction and stories with a strong magical element.
