Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a work of fiction that delves into the life and ordeals of Galen Bray. The book has 281 pages, and it is divided into 21 chapters. The book starts with the Emperor of Lullabies. He had four sons, and each of them had a legitimate claim to his throne. Their father sent them off to an island to thwart their plans of standing against him. Later on, the island where the four sons were sent became the Land of the Princes. After his uncle had died, Galen Bray boarded a ship and sailed to Voulhire where his life changed. His uncle was a blacksmith, and Galen had to take over everything his uncle owned. Meanwhile, King Wilhelm has appointed Lord Eldus to be in charge of Hillport, but it is not going to be easy because of the actions of his predecessor, Dalehei Meldorath. Meldorath is a powerful mage who will not stop until he gets what he wants. How did the story end?
We are Voulhire: A New arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an intriguing work of fiction that was written with a first-person narrative. The book does not have a table of contents, but it has a reference page at the end of the story. The author did a good job of using understandable words to describe the characters' actions, environment, and emotions. Although there seem to be different storylines in this book, they all revolve around Voulhire. The book has a prologue that gives an idea of what the book entails, and I love the author's writing style.
One major thing I learned from this book is that mastery of any craft requires intimacy, and intimacy requires passion. I agree with the author's perspective, and I was able to flow well with him. I also learned about cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is a result of a conflict between different beliefs.
I enjoyed reading this book. However, I noticed a few negative aspects while reading this work of fiction. I do not like the fact that the pages were not numbered. I also do not like the rate of profanity in this book. The positive aspects I noticed while reading this book revolve around the author's writing style and the subtle lessons I learned from the story.
This book was well written. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies was exceptionally edited. I did not notice any grammatical or spelling errors while reading this book.
Every work of art has a unique concept that is fueled by multiple perspectives. I appreciate the author's efforts, but I believe that subsequent books in this series will be made better than this one. I learned a few lessons from this book, and I believe that other readers will learn from it too. I recommend this book to lovers of action and fiction. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars due to the few points mentioned above and because of the author's writing style.
