We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an intriguing fantasy/sci-fi series book. The book takes us to the world of Voulhire, governed by a king who had four sons, but since he had a feeling that at some point his son may have a desire to overpower him to inherit his throne, he decided to give each son money, weapons, an island, and supplies for them to stand on their own and also to stop this threat. Galen Bray journeys to Magnum Caelum, where he inherits his uncle's business, called Onita Steel, a forge and a house. King Wilhelm appoints Lord Eldus Alderman to revitalize the town of Hillport. Hillport town was still reeling from the effects of its previous two lords. Lord Orlin was the first head of Hillport and was later killed for his crimes. His successor, Meldorath, was an evil mage who used his evil magic to terrorize the town. He was imprisoned, but the people of Hillport believe he is dead. I love this book. First, the author has blended metaphors, imagery, and similes, which perfectly makes this novel beautiful and captivating. Matthew Tysz's style of writing was top-notch. I also loved the depth of each character in the book. You could get to know that Galen was flexible enough to adapt to things easily. Lord Eldus was a good person who adhered to the laws. I thank the author for providing a glossary of terms and names of unique places in Voulhire at the novel's end. Readers would embrace this as it aids in fleshing out the world of Voulhire. Matthew Tysz's choice of vocabulary could tell us that he is a master of crafting imaginary worlds in this epic fantasy. What I loved most about the book is that the map of Voulhire is included at the beginning. It made my work easier as I could have a picture of where everything was taking place and where each character was traveling. The author has also well described and explained the location of districts, how buildings looked like, and events that occurred, making this novel real and exciting.

The book had a few flaws. The book had numerous characters, and I could not relate to and understand each character at the beginning until halfway through the story. It could be well if the list of characters were included at the beginning after the map since this is the first of a six-book series. It will give the reader an idea and make them recall who they are and what they do whenever they come upon them. It took me longer to connect with all the novel's characters.

Based on the many positives mentioned above, I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. There were no grammatical or typographical errors in the book that I noticed. It was well-written and exceptionally edited.

I would dedicate his book to people who love fantasy packed with action, humor, and magic and young adults.
