We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is fictional fantasy that centers on Voulhire. Galen Bray is from the Land of Princes, a country ravaged by war, hunger, and poverty. His uncle, who is a blacksmith, lives in Magnum Caelum. He sends Galen to come and live with him. He sails for a week before arriving at Magnum Caelum. He finds out his uncle has passed away, and he is devastated.

Galen finds out his uncle was a blacksmith and inherits his forge. Galen trains himself to be a blacksmith; with Rowan’s help. Rowan is his uncle’s enforcer, who helped find Galen. Wilhem Arcolo is the king of Voulhire, a prosperous and great country. He appoints Eldus to rule Hillport and return it to its former glory. Lord Eldus relocates with his family to Hillport. The previous ruler of Hillport, Lord Meldorath, was evil. Does Lord Eldus succeed? How is Galen Bray connected to all this? To find out, grab a copy.

This book was fun-filled and action-packed. The writing was clear and concise, making it an easy read. I liked the different points of view shown by the author; it was easy to understand. The book was not confusing, even with the complexities. The characters were well-developed. The minor characters had an impact on the story and weren't just fillers. My favorite characters were Galen and Lord Eldus. Galen was humble and down to earth; he handled the forge well. Lord Eldus was kind and compassionate; he was a good leader. I liked that the book was well-detailed; I could picture all the scenes in my head. The setting was realistic, and the tone was great. It has a lot of suspense which I liked. It book taught me that success is achieved through hard work and determination.

After a slow start, it got entertaining, and I did not take my eyes off it until the end. I did not find any dislikes about the book. It was well-written and well-paced. I happily give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Being the first book in the series, it set a subsequent tone for the books to follow. I can’t wait to read those as well. I found no errors in the book, which means it was exceptionally well-edited.

Fantasy fiction can’t get any better than this. This book was fun, thrilling, and had suspense. I recommend it to lovers of drama, fiction, fantasy, thrillers, and suspense. If you do not like violence, I advise you to skip it.
