An epic fantasy novel, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is the first book in Matthew Tysz's We Are Voulhire series. In this book, the author takes you on a journey through the fictional land of Voulhire. In this world, magic and conflict take center stage.

This story is about a young man who grows up in a war-torn land and discovers that he can escape with his uncle's inheritance. The uncle had set up a successful blacksmith shop in a small town in Voulhire. Voulhire is a peaceful and thriving kingdom ruled over by a benevolent king. Despite not knowing anything about being a blacksmith, Galen arrives in this picturesque country to take over his uncle's smithy.

The book has three hundred pages and introduces us to the kingdom of Voulhire, its surroundings, "the land of the princes," and the history, origin, and culture of Voulhire. Each chapter is devoted to one of the characters, and the chapters go back and forth between them. Most of the time, the narrator tells the story from the third-person point of view. However, when telling Galen’s story, the narrator uses the first-person point of view.

There were many things that I liked about the book. What I liked most about the book was the language used by the author. Vivid description has been used very well in that when the author describes a certain aspect or thing, you can be able to create clear mental pictures. The author has also done a good job of writing the book from Galen’s point of view. I particularly liked that the book included a map of Voulhire and a glossary of all the strange words and expressions used throughout.

Overall, I think this book is worth recommending to adults and young readers alike. Readers who enjoy mystics will enjoy this book. I must say, this book is exceptionally well edited. I did not notice any errors, although the book mentions topics such as pedophilia, sex, and rape, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 16. Furthermore, this book mentions magic, so I would not recommend it to religious people. There are no erotic scenes in the book. Overall, I have no complaints about this book. For these reasons, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
