Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
The smart Emperor of Lullabies was concerned about his four sons, each of whom had the potential to succeed him as emperor. He had a sneaking suspicion that they might act oddly. He believed they would work together to plot his overthrow and divide up his empire. Therefore, the wise emperor awarded every one of his princes a little group of islands far from his realm. Every royal had an advantage over their brothers because these islands all had certain unique resources. Two years later, as their father had said, they began a civil war, with each of them vying to be the single successor to the entire chain of islands.
"The Lands of the Princes," as the chain of islands was called, turned into a dangerous place to live. The city's wealthy people were executed by the sword, while the less wealthy citizens starved to death. Galen, however, was fortunate to have his unknown uncle arrange for someone to track him down and bring him to Voulhire. And even though it was risky to come to Voulhire from the country of the princes, he still preferred that adventure to staying back in the lands of the princes.
Voulhire faced problems of its own. First, there were mages who engaged in all kinds of activities and fought over unidentified issues. Additionally, each of the Lords that was sent to aid Hillport City was engaged in a covert mission.
Indeed, Galen received a large inheritance from his uncle, but he had yet to learn the identity of the man who had been so carefully looking for him. In order to master his uncle's skill, he had just begun reading the book his uncle had left for him.
Among the positive aspects of the novel was the fact that the story was captivating. The intriguing adventures that were introduced in each chapter kept me reading. Additionally, before going on to the following chapter, each chapter ends with an increased sense of suspense.
The one drawback, in my opinion, was that each chapter's opening lacked the same sense of thrill as the conclusion of the previous one. This kind of dampens your excitement a little, but as you turn the following few pages, it picks back up.
The book underwent thorough editing. The editor did an excellent job. Based on how much I liked the book, I rate We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to everyone looking for a new, engrossing novel to read. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
