I liked reading We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz. It is the first installment of a continuing series. There is a tale about a character named Galen in the book's opening pages. He is the protagonist of this captivating, action-packed story. Galen hails from the war-prone Lands of the Princes. At the beginning of the book, he is narrating an old tale.

Galen is telling a story about an emperor who had four sons, each of whom was legally entitled to the throne according to traditional customs. Intuitively, Galen illustrates the emperor's intelligence in the narrative when he describes how he foresaw a devious plan from his cunning sons, who desired to conspire against him and overthrow him. The scheme that the emperor devised was successful. There is a comprehensive description of the Kingdom of Voulhire.

I enjoy reading novels, but not ones that are part of a series. My opinion about series books has shifted as a result of this book. I've recently grown to love the novels in this series. The plot moved along smoothly and was engaging. While reading the novel, I was intrigued by the scenes. Furthermore, the writing was excellent and demonstrated the author's ability to craft stories that are fascinating, enjoyable, and easy to read.

First-person and third-person viewpoints are both used to narrate the story. The entire story's events and characters were fully described by the author. I had no trouble dissecting the actions of each character as I read the novel. The author's skilled writing style made this possible. The story sounds true, even if it is a work of fiction. The book has all the elements that a great novel should have.

At the beginning of the book, a map of Voulhire's realm is presented. The locations addressed in the book are depicted in great detail on the map. The author has included a link that takes readers to a page on his website with more details about the Voulhire Kingdom and ideas related to the multiverse in which it is located. A glossary of words, ideas, and names specific to the Voulhire universe is provided at the end of the book.

The language is simple to use aside from the words, which are particular to the Voulhire world. Every reader with any reading ability can read it. I found the author's writing style to be the most appealing aspect of this book. It was understated but magnificent. I found nothing about this book to be unappealing. I'm eager to read the sequel to this series because the first book's tale was so engrossing.

The chapter of the book that described the emperor's strategy to outwit his four cunning sons, who wanted to usurp him, was my favorite. His knowledge taught me a great deal. I give this book a score of 4 out of 4 stars. No justification exists for lowering its rating. There were no errors in the book because it had been professionally edited. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction books.
