We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a science fiction novel written by Matthew Tysz. It is a book in a series of multiple such books in the same genre. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies depicts the story of Galen, who is desperate to leave the wretched Land of the Princes. He fruitlessly tries to leave the kingdom, and the only way to go is through a ship that sails once in a few months. But luck turns towards him, and he finds a paper that can lead him to his uncle in Voulhire. And so, begins his new life.

The Kingdom of Voulhire is in its prime. The villages are prosperous and happy banters run the economy, but only King Wilhelm and his advisors know of an upcoming danger to the kingdom. As the King is preoccupied with protecting his country from the dangers, another foe begins building itself: the fallen kingdom of Riva Rohavi. Will Voulhire, now surrounded with thorns all around, survive the chaos? Or will it surrender to the enemies? Read the book to know more.

I liked the way the author created the world of Voulhire to be a fictional part of the universe. The sense of mystery that the author has managed to maintain in every line of the book is commendable. It brings a foggy, puzzling aura to the story that encourages the reader to look between the lines and to understand the underlying cause of conflict. A lot of details are mentioned, but a suitable amount is kept reserved for the reader’s imagination, which is also something I liked about the book. The language used is brilliant, with vibrant words and many adjectives, and it presented a vivid image to the mind when I sat to read it. The beginning of the story is a bit tedious but enjoyable.

The only thing I disliked about the book was the lack of a table of contents. It would have made it easier for me to track my reading progress, but other than that, I see no error in the book.

I found minimal errors in this book which do not take away the fundamental effect it has on me, and therefore, I would like to give this book four out of four stars. This book is recommended to all science-fiction lovers, as well as a great starting novel for people who would like to begin reading in this genre. Readers' discretion is advised to sensitive readers due to the mention of sexual abuse, sexual acts, and violence. Anyways, I am highly excited to read the next novel in the series!
