We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is about the
Kingdom of Voulhire and the darkness that surrounds it. The realm of Voulhire is a combination of humans and mages. Mages that will conquer the whole kingdom and will use the human's life as their sacrifice for their dark intentions. Meldorath became the Lord of Hillport because of his bloody war against the former leader of the city. This will frighten the citizens, even if after months in the position he will be gone. But his absence will still linger to the Voulhirian people.

What I like about the book is the personality of Galen. I like how he treated people around him. I love the way he wants to learn about his uncle's business and even consider other peoples opinion on how he can use different types of metal and their advantages. I also like his bond with Rowan and Demetrius. He is so innocent of the people's intentions, but he makes sure that others will not take advantage of it. He always wants to know things and people's feelings in a way that will not make them uncomfortable.

What I don't like about the book is that I don't even identify who the main character is. I feel like that the whole story revolves around different people. I am not satisfied with how the story ended. Some of the characters roots are not even included, that will make the reader confused on their roles and intentions. Also, there is no emphasis to Meldorath's point of view. But other than that, I still considered this book a good read and I hope it has another book that will tackle all the lacking in the current story.

I will rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars, because it is exceptionally edited and I didn't even notice any errors. It is a type of book that you will want to read continuously because you want to know the magic powers of the mages and how they are going to use it to their advantage. Also, you will want to know how the Voulhrian citizens will face the mages' destruction.

I will recommend this book to the young adult or even to the teenage ones, because it is the type of book that they will enjoy. It tackles magic and mages that will hook them in to reading, especially to the ones that love science fiction. They can also feel the personality of the characters, especially Galen and Rowan.
