Hi everyone, this is my first review on here, and while I typically like reviewing books in depth, I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Dune is the #1 best selling science fiction novel, and with good reason. The world of Arrakis is unique. The characters are wonderfully three dimensional and complex. The dialogue is magnificent. One of the most enjoyable parts of this book was the limited narration and the engaging interactions between characters. The story was complex, and a bit confusing at times. In my humble opinion the pacing was perfect up until the end of the novel. Suspense carried it through to the end, however the ending was abrupt, and after reading this I felt cheated. The plot is thick with twists and turns, and in some cases, I wish these twists would have been more deeply explored. This is one of those books that one respects and acknowledges as being ground breaking in its genre, yet in some areas falls short by today's standards. Overall, interesting characters and a unique setting, but a somewhat dragging plot.

I strongly recommend this book for fans of science fiction! 4/5 stars
