This is an interesting story about a man called Galen Bray who escaped his home under war through the help of his Uncle, Galen Onita, a notable and great blacksmith in Magnum Caelum. Inheriting his Uncle's properties, he is charged with the responsibility of keeping “The Business" thriving. In order to succeed in this, he learns new things day by day, meet with people whose culture and personalities were different from what he's used to, discovers and experiences adventures. He finds himself in a more civilised world, a new country, Voulhire, full of: luxuries, internal strifes mainly by rebels who wreak havoc on the kingdom, magic users, ordinary people, poor and rich, and so on. The story depicts how leaders' decisions whether good or bad the consequences of which have a strong effect on the people.

I have to commend the author, Matthew Tysz, for this incredible write-up. His writing style is indeed unique. Each chapter of the book is titled by a major character, and events that revolve around that character is what each entails. Chapters titled “Galen" or “Galen Bray" were more than the others as he is the main character of the story. Flipping through the pages increased my curiosity and a desire to unravel mysteries as the book is unpredictable. One moment you're glad you discovered the truth, another moment you wonder if that's really the truth, asking yourself, What exactly is the truth? These caused questions to swirl round my mind, questions like: What really happened to Melodorath? Was he really dead? The accusations against Lord Orlin, were they really true? A hooded man who appeared to Isla, the daughter of Lord Eldus Alderman, and another with the same attributes to Lady Charlotte, could it be the same man? Who was he? What's his mission?

The characters were well potrayed and developed, both antagonists and protagonists. The main character Galen Bray was a simple man who appreciated the efforts of those who had a hand in his rescue, but his willingness to learn is what endeared him to me most. I also like Lady Charlotte Alderman, the wife of Eldus Alderman, a Judge turned Lord. Her ability to relate with the poor despite her wealthy status as well as her brilliance is noteworthy. The characters seem to have little secrets right from the King to his chiefs and subjects.

The book was professionally edited as I found just a single error therein. In light of this fact, I rate this book four out of four stars. I disliked nothing about the book. Due to these facts, I couldn't rate it any less.

This book is best suited to mature audience because of the use of swear words and drugs in it, and also violent and bloody scenes which are good for horror scenes lovers. Lovers of science and readers curious about the use of magic by humans would enjoy it. In addition, having a sense of humor, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is plainly fabulous.
