There was a fire on the mountain. Galen's country had been at war for years, and that war was only getting worse. Galen knew that he would surely die if he remained in his country. Thankfully, Rowan came bearing news for him. He was now a landowner and had a blacksmith shop in Voulhire. Although Galen did not know the first thing about blacksmithing, he could not shut the door on the opportunity he had to get out of his country. That was the beginning of his adventure. He would go on to become a refugee in Voulhire, a land he had heard many good and impressive things about. He believed this was his chance to hit the reset button on his life. He trusted that life would get better for him. Little did he know that underneath the neat and impressive facade that Voulhire covered itself with was a hopeless evil waiting to pollute the earth.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a book that showcases the culture and life of the Voulhirian people. It gives us a good idea of how the average Voulhirian lived, his/her values, and how they interacted with themselves. It also tells us just how powerful its most-feared mages are. Therefore, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a book about magic, adventure, and evil.

The first thing I will say I liked about this novel is the fact that it is part of a series. It is the first book in the We are Voulhire series. I am excited because I know this series will take me on an interesting journey that will burn itself into my mind for a long time. How do I know this? Simple. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, the first book, impressed and entertained me to great ends. I have nothing but high expectations for its sequels.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies has a unique feature. It was written from two perspectives. The first perspective is the first-person point of view. Galen was the only character that had the good fortune of telling his story from his perspective. Of course, I benefited from this because I got to see what made him tick and what went through his mind. The second perspective is the third-person point of view. Every other character had their stories told by Matthew Tysz, the author of this novel. This feature of different perspectives was great because it was unique. I do not see such a unique feature in a novel every day. What I liked most about this book and this feature was that its delivery was seamless and beautiful. I was never confused when a transition happened.

Please, do not be surprised to find out that I did not dislike a single thing about We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. I read this novel and found that I did not note any negative aspects. This surprised me because not many authors have been able to impress me by writing and publishing flawless novels. Matthew Tysz deserves special praise for achieving that feat in this novel. Of course, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies was also excellently edited. Not disliking anything about this novel has forced me to give it a perfect rating. So, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

Read We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies if fantasy fiction is your cup of tea. There is an abundance of magic and war (both physical and mental) to keep any reader entertained for a while.
