Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under the Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, is an intriguing science-fiction novel. Are you a lover of fantasy and magical worlds? Dive into the book.
Galen Bray, one of the sons of the Emperor, embarks on a journey to Voulhire, a magical kingdom. He seeks a better life away from the Land of the Princes, filled with chaos and war. Bray discovers he is the heir to his late uncle's Onita Steel business in Voulhire. The magical kingdom of Voulhire is surrounded by evil, as those in power would go to any length to see their desires established. Galen Bray must rise to the task of saving the kingdom. How can he do this? Find out in the book.
I must commend the author on this creative piece. This 151-page novel is the first series of books. Its thrill has me eager to want to read the rest. It discusses several themes, such as history, politics, magic, power, loyalty, and royalty.
I love every character in the book, but my favorite would be Galen Bray. His character is a relatable one. Every character in the book is well-developed and plays their roles perfectly. I enjoyed the author's skillful use of words to create images of the worlds he made while reading. I could perfectly picture every scene effortlessly. The author did a fantastic job with the introduction of Voulhire. Its descriptions are well-detailed, covering its history, culture, and structure. These details helped me to understand the book better.
This book is written from multiple perspectives. It is quite a tasking job, but the author excelled in it. I had no confusion while reading the book. The author seamlessly weaves past and present events. The twists and turns in the book will keep you turning its pages.
The only part I disliked about the book is its slow pace of events. It became uninteresting at the beginning when the action was delayed. Nevertheless, after reading further, I found it appealing. This does not detract a star. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It might be tedious at first but exciting when you read on. I found no typographical or grammatical errors in the book. This is due to its professional editing.
There are several gory scenes of killings some readers might consider sensitive. I recommend this book to sci-fi novel lovers and anyone who enjoys political thrillers. If you love to read magical and fantasy stories, grab this book and enjoy it.
