Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Galen desired to set sail and escape the miserable Land of the Princes, where he was born in a place where greed, destitution, and power-hungry tyrants reigned. He lacks money, and the only means to leave the island is via a ship that only sails once every few months, so the life he wanted is an impossibly pipe dream. But when a guy approached him carrying a document that could lead him to his uncle in Voulhire, the glorious country brimming with potential and fortune, a new hope began to bloom in his heart.
The book chronicles the lives of several significant figures who held prominent positions in the kingdoms they were assigned to at various points in time. Their leadership philosophies and kingdoms were dissimilar. One of these individuals was Meldorath. People from all around Voulhire were immobilized with fear at the mention of his name since he was endowed with magical abilities that he utilized for evil. Lord Eldus, who served as a judge before being elevated to the position of lord, is also introduced in the novel. He was a proud leader who served his people with reason and intelligence.
There are many characters in the novel, and the author did a fantastic job with their growth. I enjoyed Rowan's humor and wit in particular, and I admire his patience with Galen. However, I can't help but worry that if Demetrius were to comprehend the stone's potential, he may vanish with it. Galen seems to be the main protagonist, and the majority of the story is presented from his point of view; therefore, I wish the author had spent more time fleshing out his personality. He spent more than 20 years looking over his shoulder every day, but I thought he was too naive for that.
I didn't think there was a sufficient complaint to deduct any ratings. I give this article a score of 4 out of 4. It has been a while since a setting has captivated me as much as the characters themselves in a tale, so I found it to be extremely energizing. I keep feeling the urge to read more and more about this fascinating country. I would suggest this book to everyone who likes reading magical fantasy. If you love reading science fiction and epic books, this would also make sense to you.
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a good read without just one error that would keep you awake all night. The book was professionally edited.
