We Are Voulhire, A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz, is the first in a nine-book series about the fictional world of Voulhire. Matthew Tysz artfully weaves the reader through exciting storylines that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This novel features everything from beginning friendships to intense battle sequences that will have you salivating for more.

After twenty years in the battle-torn Lands of the Princes, Galen Bray received word that his uncle had left him an inheritance that would take him on a new journey that would change his life. Across the seas, in the country of Voulhire, King Wilhelm strategizes with his advisors to repair his kingdom. He sends one of his trusted associates, Lord Eldus, to the city of Hillport, a town that suffers after not only one, but two devastating leaders. Can Lord Eldus sort through the tragedies and make Hillport prosperous? How do these characters connect in the Cosmos? Read We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies to find out!

This novel had many positive aspects. From the first few chapters, it was obvious that the author had a great deal of passion that he poured into this novel series. The characters were relatable and written in such a way that they felt like friends. Additionally, the extended reading and reference guide gave the backstory and information needed to understand any confusing topics. Galen Bray was by far my favorite character. His authenticity was refreshing and was easy to connect with throughout his journey.

The scene that had my attention from the very beginning was in the high court with the elderly man who was not abiding by the general expectations of the people of Voulhire. It gave an interesting perspective on the people of Voulhire and had a great number of humorous, unexpected twists.

This book had no negative aspects to report. It was thrilling from the first page to the very last. Several chapters had some well-placed humor and innuendo which kept me on my toes. All 195 pages were engaging and immediately had me seeking the next installment upon completion.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book seemed to have been professionally edited and had no errors. This book would be appropriate for young adults and anyone interested in a science-fiction thriller. I would not recommend this book for a younger demographic, as it contains some profanity and a mild amount of sexual innuendo.

This book is definitely fantasy. This book contains so much originality thanks to Matthew. From the world to the events, and finally to the characters. Additionally, there are a number of lessons that can be drawn from it. Excellent analysis.
