Review of The Pathless Woods
The Pathless Woods is a mind-blowing fictional book written by Morgan Smith about a world filled with different creatures, like faes, hell hounds, vampires, succubus, and then humans. The author talks about something unprecedented happening in the human world, that is, the suspicious death of a middle-aged man, Jason O’Donell, and some missing part elven children, which puts Elfhame in danger. Morag and her group try to look into the suspicious death but find something worse than the case. What did they find?
The author of this book starts the book by talking about Morag going through the pathless woods to the Elfhame world for the welcoming. She is met with a lot of unforeseen and unexpected events when she gets back to the human world, which puts her and both the human and Elfhame worlds in trouble. She is set on trying to save everyone from the impending danger. What would she have to do to save both worlds? What is the impending danger, and who is the person behind it? Who is trying to destroy Elfhame, and why?
One positive aspect I found in this book was the interesting and captivating storyline of the book. I love the way the author narrated her story in the book in a first-person narrative. It made me feel like I was living the story with the author. I loved the buildup of the story. I especially liked the suspense, drama, mystery, and a little bit of comedy in the book. I also love the author’s style of writing and how she pays attention to the details when it comes to describing scenes. I also loved so many characters, but my favorite character was Morag because of how brave she was and the mystery behind her character. The book also enriched my vocabulary. I also love that the story was loosely linked to real past events like Jason's murder and real places too.
Aside from the errors, I didn’t find any negative aspects of this book; the book was really interesting to read.
Although I found some errors in the book, I would say this book was professionally edited. I would rate the book 5 out of 5 because it is really a great book with a great storyline, and the errors did not affect the flow or rhythm of the story.
I recommend this book to persons who are into fantasy fiction books. I also recommend the book to people who are into mystery books and paranormal books. I would also recommend it to people that love adventurous books.
