We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skiesis a science fiction and fantasy novel written by Matthew Tysz. The story is built on imagination, science, spirituality, and philosophy. These items are the inspiration behind how the world of Voulhire is created and are the themes throughout the story. The book also contains some history and suspense. It is the first in the series.

Galen Bray is a refugee who has to escape his own war-torn home. He travels to Voulhire. Through his journey, he learns about humanity's relationship with the universe. He sees what power means and how people use it. He doesn't want to see the world he came to be part of destroyed by the ambitions of complicated people.

Those who enjoy reading science fiction or fantasy genres will want to read this book. It would be best suited for young adults and adults. The content might be too complex and confusing for younger readers. Readers who aren't into this genre, or stories based on imagination, would probably prefer to skip reading it.

I am typically not one to enjoy science fiction books, but I did find this one to be intriguing. I found each character to be well-developed. I liked how the author includes a list of the characters at the beginning of the book. This made for a quick reference to understand each character a little more. The author also includes a glossary of terms, concepts, and names at the end of the book. I found this to also be helpful. I enjoyed reading about Voulhire and the multiverse it resides in. The author changes narration throughout the book, but he labels each chapter so the reader knows whose point of view the story is being told from. I like when the chapters are labeled like that as it eliminates confusion. The author created an intriguing and entertaining world. The plot kept my attention the whole way through. Overall, I didn't find anything to dislike about this book.

I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars. It appears to be exceptionally well-edited and contains no errors. I gave the book this rating as I enjoyed the author's writing style and the creative way he made the world of Voulhire come to life. The characters are well-developed and relatable. The author made me want to read other science fiction stories. I would recommend this book to others. I would also be interested in reading the other books the author has in this series.
