Terms of Service is a dystopian sci-fi novel written by Craig W. Stanfill. It is set in an advanced and futuristic world primarily driven by artificial intelligence. It follows the life of Kim, an artificial intelligence trainer, as she comes to discover that beneath the order and efficiency her society exudes, there is a more nefarious agenda at work.

Kim was born in a world where humans had no control over their own lives. Their choices were dictated to them by AI machines, and their every action was closely monitored to ensure they abided by a strict set of rules. She works as an AI trainer for an artificial intelligence company, a position that has enabled her to gain more knowledge about how AIs work and how their rules are designed to work.

Life in this world was a monotonous affair for her, stripped of all excitement, until one fateful day, when an adventure with a rebellious friend of hers causes her to push the boundaries of what is permitted. After that day, Kim's life took an unexpected turn as she began to question her previous convictions, questions that eventually led her to see this society for what it truly was: a manipulative way to control them.

This book's title is what initially piqued my curiosity about it. I'm reminded of George Orwell's 1984 by this novel. The author illuminated the darker side of our reliance on technology; he portrayed a society where practically all human free will had been suppressed in the name of order, and it was a profoundly unsettling picture he painted. We saw the attempts made by the mysterious ruling group known as the Hierarchy to strip humanity of all feelings of individuality and identity, leaving just the bare necessities needed to ensure that the individual components function properly.

The plot was captivating from start to finish. The author spent enough time providing sufficient information about how this world works, which made it easier to follow the story. All these factors and the fact that the author took a popular concept about technology taking over human life and built a captivating story around it, made reading this book an enjoyable experience for me. I love it.

All in all, Terms of Service was an amazing book. I would give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. There was nothing I disliked about it; the storyline was captivating, the concept used was wonderful and the editing was well done, I found no errors while reading. I have no negative comment for it. Hence, the 5 stars rating. I would recommend this to people who enjoy dystopian novels like The Hunger Games and 1984.
