Review of The Prophecy of the Heron
The Prophecy of the Heron by Craig W. Stanfill is the second book in the AI Dystopia series. The story took place right after the end of the first book. Kim was exiled to District 33 in the outer district, where stabbing was a common occurrence. She had to learn a lot of new skills if she ever hopes to survive. It was a good thing some decent people helped Kim with her new life. Also, with her knowledge and abilities with a bike, Kim got herself a job. But good things were never meant to last for Kim. The Hierarchy was still trying to put an end to her. They even used Kimberly to do it. The Director of The AI Company was also keeping an eye on Kim's every move. Trap and lost, Kim was eventually guided into a portal where she is shown a prophecy by a heron. Could the prophecy of the heron help Kim with her rebellion?
What I liked the most about this book was Kim, the main character. It was incredible to watch her grow throughout the book. She started out as someone who seemed clueless and hopeless in adapting to her new life. But it didn’t take long for her to start carrying her own weight. I liked that she learned how to fight. She became a strong character that could defend herself and not a weak character who always needs to be protected. I also liked her cunning. She could manipulate the AI into doing what she wanted. I have to congratulate the author on making a very great main character.
I liked the way the author described everything in the book. The descriptions enabled me to vividly imagine what was happening. The actions in this book were also my favorite. The previous book had no action whatsoever, but this book was action-packed and I can’t stop reading it. The way the author ends the book was also incredible. A bittersweet ending that concluded everything that had happened. This book was one of the best books I had ever read. I can’t wait to read the author’s next book.
I had nothing to dislike about this book. I found a few errors, but they didn’t affect the overall reading experience. So I can say that this book is professionally edited. I gladly rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book tells the story of how one person became a spark that started a rebellion. It was a journey filled with actions and thrills along the way.
I recommend this book to readers who like stories with a dystopian future setting. Readers who like the action genre will also enjoy this book. This book is also suitable for mature readers because of the sex scene and graphic violence depicted in it.
