We are Voulhire:A new arrival under great skies gives an introduction to the fantasy world of Voulhire, with its rich history, its politics, its religion and its people. It gives you insight into the three universes of Voulhire; the physical, the magical and the spiritual universe, and the people who sometimes gain the knowledge to sometimes use these powers from other universes for their own benefit.

There are quite a few things I liked about the book. Each character have their own history ,and you get to know them very well as you progress in the story. I also liked how the focus is on one character at a time. It gives clarity into their way of thinking and understanding their actions, yet at the same time there is still some mystery, and you feel that the characters have more to reveal about themselves. It feels like you are getting to know them and even more so as the story progresses and their personalities are described in more detail. It makes them all the more believable. The main character Galen Bray is a very mysterious character. While he is exploring his new home, and getting to know new people and their culture he seems to have an almost childlike innocence, and yet, there is another side of him that seems much darker. A shadow side with many secrets, rising to the surface sometimes, and then being subdued. Most likely it has something to do with his past. A part of him he wanted to leave behind in The land of the princes. It makes you wonder what exactly happened to him before he got the opportunity to start his new life in a better place. The story is very well written and I had no difficulty conjuring up the landscapes and the architecture of this fantasy world. Every scene gets described in detail and it gives you a sense of really experiencing the environment and you feel that you are actually really there.

I did not find any negative aspect in the book.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5. I enjoyed reading this book. Matthew Tysz created a magical world in this story and I am eager to read the rest of the books in this series.

I would recommend this book for adults and teenagers, and anyone who loves to read fantasy novels.
