Review of Terms of Service
Kim thinks that she is safe, that everything she does is her choice. As long as she follows the rules her life will always be free of punishments. Little does she know she is being controlled, every step she takes is already calculated and expected. Kim lives in a place where birth-givers should be separated from their offspring as per the terms of service. This wounds her for a very long time. She lives with AIs also known as Artificial Intelligence. Almost everything in her home is sentient. In her world everything is controlled, who a person dates, the music allowed to be listened to, and et cetera. English is no longer frequently used as there is a language called Panglobal. She has some happy moments like when she watches baseball with Cy or goes biking with Shan. Shan is her best friend whom she loves very much. Shan always gets Kim into trouble and Kim can never say no even though she knows what Shan wants to do is problematic. When Kim gets into trouble everything changes, she becomes the hierarchy's property. Before this, she trained automatons but now she has her own AI which she gets to train. She is their most valued member. Unexpectedly everything starts to go wrong, something shocking brings Kim to an epiphany and her head is in turmoil. She starts to feel important and it is against the rules according to the terms of service. Her choices leave her fighting for her existence.
Craig W. Stanfill wrote this amazing, jaw dropping book called Regular text. Terms of service. Regular text. There is nothing negative I have to say about this book it is utterly wonderful to read. One can never guess what is coming next. It had me hooked from the very beginning.
This book had thorough research. The author was truly knowledgeable. Not once does a reader feel bored while reading this book. The drama is on going, people never know what tomorrow has in store for them. Craig conveys that one can never be fully controlled and they always have little control. The truth can never be concealed forever. Kim wonders why anyone would choose to have offspring when they will be taken away and in some cases never to see they birth-givers again. The AIs are always watching and listening which is rather creepy.
I found no errors in this book. It was perfectly and professionally edited. It was inclusive and so descriptive it makes the reader feel like they are really there, in the moment with the characters.
I would strongly recommend this book for readers who love science fiction, political drama, and world domination. There is a lot of rebellion from those who wish to not be controlled. They often join cults and they are always being hunted down. Thinking for yourself is something the hierarchy tries to prevent by all means possible. Humans are viewed as irrational creatures that should not be allowed to lead. For those who also love a good read about oppression you will definitely enjoy reading this book. I would rate this book a Regular text. 5 out of 5. Regular text.
