TERMS OF SERVICE Subject to Change Without Notice by CRAIG W. STANFILL is a dystopian sci-fi book where all the aspects of one’s life are controlled and monitored by AI. Kim 0123456789 works for the Artificial Intelligence Company, she trains simple operational automata incapable of thinking for themselves. An incident where Kim and her friend Shan took a road that was “not allowed” to take sent Kim’s life going in directions that she never even knew existed. She was promoted to a higher position, where she will be working directly with high-order AIs. Suddenly Kim was the creator of Kimberly Jefferson Haley, an AI. Her job changed to training an AI which was a huge upgradation from her usual job. Is this a punishment for trespassing or a dream come true for Kim? While training Kimberly, the mystery behind her haunting dreams, her faint memories from the past, and events that were fabricated in her mind; all the truths were unveiled. And when she discovers her true self, will she dare to go against everything?

This was my first book in this genre and I have to say that the bar it has set for me, is high. The author’s description was fabulous, it felt like I was watching everything from a VR headset. The character building and development were very fluent and felt like they came naturally. Those scenes in which the refrigerator tortured Kim by giving her the food she disliked, were my favorites.

The thing I disliked was that it was very slow-paced in the initial chapters; it was after the 5th or 6th chapter the story started. In terms of the terminology used by the author, I had to google some of the words and were a bit technical at certain points. Another thing I didn’t like was that, at some points author, had too much going in his head and was somewhat confused as to in which direction to take the story further.

Despite these things, I would rate this book 5 out of 5, likes outdid the dislikes. TERMS OF SERVICE Subject to Change Without Notice is a translation from Panglobal to English, so a certain number of grammatical errors were expected, but it was very well edited and translated. When the story picked its pace I was hooked and couldn’t keep the book down. I enjoyed reading this dystopian sci-fi book.

It does contain slight profanity, description of intimate scenes, and instances where characters are consuming drugs and alcohol. I would recommend this book to a mature audience who wouldn’t be easily influenced by these scenes. It is a great and must-read for people who love to read dystopian sci-fi thriller novels.
