In a time when the Islands of the Princes are plagued by seemingly endless wars that rage across the lands, Galen is rescued with the help of a relative who resides in the peaceful and prosperous country of Voulhire. He starts out on a voyage across the seas to start a new life in the new country, with so many adventures waiting for him.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies tells many stories of the people across the nation of Voulhire. An old man who lies at death's door succeeds in finding his nephew, who lives across the sea in the Islands of the Princes, and passes on his wealth and trade to him with the hope that he will be able to make a life for himself in Voulhire. Meanwhile, the peace of Voulhire is slowly being chipped away by the rumors of the once powerful Lord Meldorath, the former Lord of the town of Hillport. He was an extremely powerful mage, and some claimed it was so because of his connection to "Caromentis," also known as the realm of magic. He was said to have been executed for his crimes against the people of his region, but he was just imprisoned in a castle on a deserted island south of Hillport. There's much to discover concerning the kingdom and its secrets, the true state of the nation, and how long its peace can last despite the looming threat of Meldorath and his supporters. Find out in this adventure-packed novel by Matthew Tysz.

I really enjoyed being introduced to the world created by the author's imagination in this novel. It is a very interesting read and the first in its series. I was gradually able to assimilate the world-building into my mind and see the bigger picture, making it much easier to understand and enjoy. There was a lot of introduction into the world in the beginning of the book, and I was glad that the author put so much effort into making sure that the readers saw the expanse of the world-building as clearly as possible. It told a story with a bit of science and religion and made them dependent on one another. I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the series and would love to read more about the adventures of Galen.

I didn't find any errors in this novel, and I also enjoyed it so much that I found nothing negative that is worth pointing out. It was exceptionally well edited, which made the reading experience enjoyable. However, I have to add that one must be patient at the beginning of the novel. The stories are divisive, but connections are made as the story progresses.

I liked this book very much, and I will gladly rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It is a fun and mentally stimulating read. I hope those who decide to read this novel end up enjoying it as much as I did.

I recommend this novel to lovers of fantasy and anyone who would be patient enough to read through an adventure novel series. I do not recommend this to anyone who may be uncomfortable reading about the concept of magic. Some concepts are also religious in nature and, in my opinion, bear a strong resemblance to Christianity. If any concept of such nature would be uncomfortable for a reader, then he or she would have issues fully enjoying this book.

Your review is certainly well-detailed. I enjoyed your summary of the book, as science fiction is on the least of my favorite genres. Your commentary seems very genuine, and if I get to read it, I hope I'll share in the excitement you got from reading this book. Voulhire seems like a nice place compared to the land of the princes, and I'm sure Galen will make good use of his fortune. Good day.
