Seventh Mark, Hidden Secrets Saga Book 1 by W.J. May

Post by K Venne »

The first book in this series is way too short, it feels like the story is just about to begin and then it ends. It isn’t even 100 pages long. For this reason alone I am not going to even bother getting the rest of the books in the series as I feel as if I’ve been jilted by the author. There are cliffhangers which leave you wanting more, and then there’s just cutting off the story and ending the book after 100 pages to make money.

The story itself is ok. It has potential to be a good book for young adults, has a slight Twilight feel to it, but I feel it was lacking. The writing feels a bit rushed and the editing at times is a tad messy.

The story is about a young girl named Rouge who has grown up in the foster system. She has recently moved to California with her foster parents and is starting her last year of high school. Rouge meets and is quickly befriended by a girl named Grace at her high school. Grace is very pretty, popular and has a hunky brother that Rouge is developing feelings for. However Grace’s family has a secret that could mean the end of Rouge’s friendship with Grace and possible relationship with Michael. And then the first book ends, and you’re left feeling disappointed.
