Craig W. Stanfill returns with another novel The Prophecy of the Heron. This novel is a sequel to his novel Terms of Service . After being humiliated and stripped of his dignity, Kim is sent to the outer district. With nothing, but freedom to her name, Kim must find a way to survive and adapt to the cruel and unforgiving district 33. This time Kim learns of new information, that could be the light at the end of the tunnel. However it seems like Kimberly and a certain group of individuals, have no desire to let Kim enjoy her freedom. Let alone have time to go searching for answers to the many questions left unanswered.

The Positive aspect of this novel is that Craig W. Stanfill decided to show us, more of the dark side created by this so called society of Unity, Community and Equality. I enjoyed learning about the cities that are still left standing after the war. The action packed scenes were enjoyable, as the showed us Kim's growth as she adapts to her new life in district 33. Once again Craig W. Stanfill was able to create a page turner, by introducing new characters and concepts, while making sure that the old ones still get their spot in the sun.

My one negative aspect of the book is that during the later half the novel becomes a little bit hard to understand, due to a lot of events happening in virtual reality. I had to reread the same chapter over and over again, so that I can understand what was going on. The hardest part was when the doppelganger made it appearance again and Kim couldn't remember any part of it. I would like to add that a number of characters got introduced to the story at the same time, making it hard to tell who is who.

I would rate this novel 4 out of 5, because I noticed some plot holes at the end of the novel. I also feel like the ending was rushed, making the novel lack a certain finishing blow. I gave this rating, because I believe that Kim still had a role to play, which is why I feel unsatisfied by the ending.

I would recommend this novel to true die hard fans of the Sci/Fi genre, because a normal person will have a hard time understanding the novel especially in the later chapters. This novel needs people who are able to follow and accept concepts, that go against their common sense. This novel is not one to be used when introducing someone to the Sci/Fi genre, because not only will they not finish reading it. The might have a hard time reading another book similar to this one as time goes on.
