Terms of Service foresees the world with advancements in technology. Craig W. Stanfill tells of the world ruled by Artificial Intelligence. It is a world where robots have been incorporated everywhere and humans who know the workability of these machines have little to contribute. These machines have been made available to help in every workforce. It is a world where everything which involves human existence has been networked – from food, clothing, entertainment, and relationships, in fact, there is virtual reality where people can hold meetings and have a chat like they actually met in person. All aspects of human livelihood have been put under fulltime surveillance inclusive of internal functionality of the human body. Besides, there are terms and conditions whose breach calls for severe consequences.

This story revolves around someone named Kim who is an AI trainer. Her life has been predefined by the controllers of the Artificial Intelligence company. She works for the company diligently despite feeling some kind of emptiness from within herself. She eventually finds out that her life has been planned by her superiors and that she possesses the will to choose a lifestyle of her own. She decides to stand against the system with the hope of finding a way out.

Since Terms of Service tells of the world in future – how the world would be in some years to come with the drastically growing advancements in technology – Craig W. Stanfill has done a good job giving a view of such events. Someone who’s not so much into tech can read and picture how the world will operate by reading this book.

The book is quite uninteresting at the beginning; nothing seems to make sense. I just on went reading because I wished to know what was going on and I was also eager to see what the world would look like in future. I feel the author should also consider giving a definition of some terms which are specific to the computer world. Those definitions can be put at the end or at the beginning of the book.

I rate this book five out of five stars. Its editing has been done utterly well and the author has done well too in the way he has written the book.

I recommend this book first, to anyone who wishes to know how the world will look technologically. Second, to a tech lover who might be looking for a project or maybe just wanting to have another view of the tech world.
