Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Galen is a kind and innocent man who lived in the Lands of the Princes, a region decimated by the rulers' greed, but traveled to Voulhire to claim his uncle's inheritance in this world known as Cosmos, where there are kings, magicians, and knights who only have the desire for power and magic and whose intentions are murky and selfish. We also have Eldus, a lord who is in charge of assisting his people and ensuring that their lands prosper, albeit he might uncover mysteries along the way that he is not yet prepared to learn.
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the title of the first fantasy book in the We are Voulhire series. In each chapter, the author employs a new point of view, presenting the events from numerous angles in accordance with the personality and inner thoughts of the characters. These elements add to the book's grippingness and make it difficult to put down. You are continually intrigued by what will happen to the characters as a result of the engaging chapters.
The author's creation of the complete world was my favorite part of this novel. It is obvious that Matthew Tysz did an expert job in both the creation and imagination of this book. A map at the start of the chapter aids the reader in locating and analyzing the chapter's setting. This is also useful for comprehending the logistics and length of time required for the characters' trip between locations. There is also a reference guide for the names and jargon used in the text. Since the author thoroughly describes every scene, I didn't utilize it, however other readers could find it useful to gain more knowledge about this universe.
Nothing about this book bothered me. Additionally, it appears to have been professionally edited because I didn't notice any mistakes that would have made reading difficult. The characters are developed and have a lot of depth. Others are magnetic, while others are inscrutable. Despite the fact that this is a fantasy story, their personalities seem grounded and real. In addition, this novel had several unexpected turns that made me eager to read the subsequent installment in the series.
As a result, I give this book a score of 5 out of 5 stars. It's a compelling, well-written fantasy book with a fantastic plot. Readers who appreciate fiction stories with magic, action, and tension as well as stories that have a medieval feel should check out this collection. But I don't advise it to people who don't like reading about brutal clashes and wars in detail. In addition, I only came across a few crude words and infrequent, mild sensual situations that might offend some readers.
